Answering the Call Today: A Celebration of the Legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar Chavez

The law school community is warmly invited to the annual celebration of the lives and work of Cesar Chavez and Martin Luther King Jr., to be held this year at noon on March 28 in Robinson Courtroom. Hear how current students and recent law graduates have been responding to the needs of social justice today. Perrine Melchior, who is in the school’s foreign LLM program will speak about social justice in the US from the international perspective; Erica Ascencio and Nasim Khansari will speak about their work in the school’s Immigration Clinic, Nahid Abdalah will speak about her work in the Innocence Clinic, and Yusuf Zakir, a recent alum, will talk about diversity challenges in the legal profession today. The examples of King and Chavez for social justice in law has never been more important than today, making this year’s event especially important for our community.

Please join us for lunch and a great panel!
