Owners of intellectual property rights are finding inventive ways to profit from their trademarks expanding the boundaries of trademark protection. Cities are searching for ways to protect and profit from their names, seals, logos, badges and slogans. The entertainment industry is using trademark law to protect unique types programming, such as "reality" shows, for which copyright was thought to be the only source of protection. This program looks at these new frontiers for trademarks and explores the limits inherent in the Lanham Act.
